A team of research leaders from Delaware, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont came together recently for the annual North East Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (NECC) meeting. The meeting was held at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute (DBI) in Newark.

The little skate, a North Atlantic sea creature resembling a ray, has captured scientists' attention for its incredible regenerative abilities. February 7, 2011- URI is seeking a bioinformaticst
URI’s Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences department is seeking a Bioinformaticist to promote the understanding and utilization of bioinformatics tools and services used by principal investigators supported by the RI-INBRE program and by others at the University of Rhode Island as well as the Network institutions in the state.
Responsibilities will include:
Providing consultation in areas of expertise, organize seminars, workshops, and short courses relevant to the needs and interests of the user community.
Develop collaborative relationships with the North East Cyberinfrastucture Consortium and the Brown University Center for Computation and Visualization.
Procure appropriate software and hardware tools and manage these resources for RI-INBRE.
Ensure that software resources located at the University of Rhode Island are accessible to the INBRE investigators at the Network institutions.
Arrange and administer data storage and backup at a centralized location.
